A. Your web page design is a one-off cost and will be the most expensive initial
cost of going online. However, once complete you will have no further
costs associated with your website unless you wish to update, add, modify or
change the layout of content of the site.
Every website is unique, therefore
it is difficult to provide a definitive quotation and will require more
information. As a broad and general guide, a static 5 page website will
cost $550 for the design phase.
The second area you will need to satisfy is to have somewhere to upload or
publish your web site to. This will require you having an agreement with
an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to host your website. This means that
your website files are uploaded to your ISP. Your ISP will generally
charge a fee for this service which can vary upon the type of service and the
features offered by the ISP which can further enhance your website. An
estimate of current hosting costs are in the range of $20 - $40 per month.
The final requirement is a domain name, although not essential. Most
ISP's provide their normal Internet customers an allocation of website space
with the account. The problem with this is that the name given is not
unique to you and is not a registered Domain name. If you are a business,
then it is advisable to register you own domain name, however, for the
individual or club, the first option may be a more cost effective option.
